Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

Do I have a strong case? I had a 44yo woman that was huffing keyboard cleaner run her vehicle completely threw my home. The home know has to be taken down to the ground and rebuilt. She was charged with reckless driving and under the influence (2 misdemeanors). I went to take a warrant out for destruction of property and was told by the magistrate that I cannot do that because she did not intentionally run through my house. This happened over two months ago. Should I hire a lawyer and take her to civil court? I have spoken to a couple lawyers, but both don't want to take the case because they feel they don't have the expertise needed. What type of lawyer should I contact?

There are lots of lawyers that do these cases and no special expertise is needed. However, one with litigation and/or insurance claims experience might be helpful. Feel free to contact my office if you need further help or a referral. Good luck.

Unless the woman was acting within the scope of her employment(huffing keyboard cleaner?) and/or has other significant personal assets, your time and money expended suing her would likely be wasted since any judgment that you might obtain against her would probably not be enforceable.
