Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

Subpoena for Deposition(s)

A corporation, and one employee as an individual, are named Defendants in Federal court.

The pro se Plaintiff wants to depose the employee who is named as an individual. Is the deposition subpoena required to be served on the individual pursuant to Rule 4 of the F.R.C.P. (i.e process server)? Or can the corporation be served the subpoena, requiring its employee to be deposed?
