Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

Warrant in debt

Can I use a warrant in debt to collect rent/storage for a motorhome left on my property when the owner died suddenly? I just found out who the finance company is when a tow company came to my home to pick up the motorhome. The motorhome was on our property for five months causing us to be unable to put our home back on the market to sell. Just wondering if I am entitled any compensation for having to store this motorhome on my property for five months. Thanks.

Re: Warrant in debt

You could present a claim for storage and attendant costs of having the vehicle on your property for the five months to the decedent's estate but not to the finance company since the vehicle would not appear to have been its legal responsibility for the period that it was being stored on your property.
