witness fees
We are the claimant in a property dispute and the defendant called a surveyor as a witness. If they are the ones that asked the surveyor to come to court, are we responsible for surveyor's fees?

No, unless you agreed to pay half of the surveyor's fee as an expert witness in the matter.
