Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

I'm currently the youth pastor at Immanuel Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, VA. This past week I was on vacation and while I was gone my resignation was falsified and placed in the church bulletin for the congregation to see. I proceeded to inform the congregation that this was false information and in fact not true. Then when I tried to get into my office the locks had all been changed. Is this illegal? What can I do?

Hard to say without further information. If the board or individual who hired you, has now decided to fire you, I would doubt that there would be much of anything that you could do about it(assuming that you were not hired under a contract governing such matters).
