Legal Question in Immigration Law in Virginia
751-divorced, or should i stay married?
I'm on a conditional green card, have to file 751 next year february. though my husband and i are still in a good relationship,he diappointed me so often that i dont trust or love him, i moved out, we live separated since last winter. Since we were together, we never had anything, we even needed a sponsor to be able to file at the first place, had already troubles around the first interview, but the interview itself went very well, the officer could see that we love each other a lot. But now I want to divorce him for several reasons, he doesn't want to work, been in and out of jail, i had to move on with my life. i know he would do anything to help me to get my permanent green card or even divorce- if that's what i want. He is a good person but i cant take his lifestyle anymore. What do i exaclty need to be able to file on my own??? I really would like to do it by myself, dont want to lie about us being together if we're not, but dont want to risk my status either!
what do i do???

You can divorce him and then file application to remove the condition of your green card yourself. CIS will need evidence to show the marriage was entered into on good faith.
