Legal Question in Immigration Law in Virginia

american born abroad

I was born in Greenland while my father was active duty air Force. I have written to the passport dept 3 times to request a ''certified'' birth certificate....I have never recieved one nor have my checks been cashed. I can not get a drivers license or state ID without this ''certified'' cert. They will not accept the copies I have. I can not get hired as I dont have the ID now required....I need to know what to do.

Re: american born abroad

It would seem that the time is now ripe for you to hire an attorney who is experienced and knowledgeable in U.S. immigration law matters and who should be able to advise you as to how you should now best proceed to prove that you are in fact a legitimately naturalized (or otherwise)citizen of the United States of America, and, consequently, are entitled to the proof necessary to certify this as unimpeachable fact.
