Legal Question in Immigration Law in Virginia

Deportation

My fiance is presently incarcerated for robbery. I was told that he would be deported back to his country, which is Haiti when he finish serving his time. I really love him and I don't want to live in Haiti if he gets deported. I dont think he nor I will survive there. All of his family is here in the U.S. Is there anything that I can do or any advice to stop his deportation? And once he is deported can he return?

Re: Deportation

If your friend is not appealing his conviction for robbery, a crime of obvious violence and aggravated felony, he will almost certainly be subject to removal proceedings by the Department of Homeland Security against which he will have virtually no defense. Conviction for an aggravated felony operates as an almost automatic basis for removal of aliens from this country.

Your friend will then be deported from the United States to Haiti from whence it's very unlikely that he would ever be permitted to return to this country.
