Legal Question in Immigration Law in Virginia

My Fiance' will be coming from Canada to the U.S. soon on a K-1 Visa, his employer wants him to continue his employment and work remotely from the U.S. He is a Canadian citizen working for the Government of Alberta. Is it possible for him to do this? Will he be required to pay U.S. Taxes on his income? What type of a lawyer should we be seeking for this type of situation and should he get the lawyer from Canada or should we get one from the U.S.?

You raised many complicated issues - marriage-based and employment-based immigration, as well as tax consequences. For this reason, I recommend that you consult with an immigration attorney. In this case, a U.S. attorney makes the most sense because the U.S. is the country to which your fiance is immigrating. Feel free to contact our office for a no-cost consultation.
