Legal Question in Immigration Law in Virginia
Immigration Status
I am 28 and have been a permanent resident. Both of my parents became US citizens before I was 10. Did that make me a citizen or am I in some jepordy?

Re: Immigration Status
You appear to have become a citizen by operation of law. I suggest that you apply for a certificate of citizenship and apply for a US passport. Why would you think you are in some jeopardy?
Re: Immigration Status
Title 8 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Sections 320-22 spell out the requirements for
a child to receive U.S. citizenship through the naturalization process of one or both of his/her
parents, and how to apply for certification of citizenship.
As long as you were under 18, unmarried, and living with one or both parents at the time they became naturalized, you're a citizen.
