Legal Question in Immigration Law in Virginia
Inform to USCIS about my divorce
My wife and I had filed for permanent residency and I have got my approval. During the process my wife deserted me and I filed for divorce in VA and got a divorce decree from VA. I would like to know how to inform USCIS (INS) that I am legally seperated and that she is not to be considered my spouse. Please advise.

Re: Inform to USCIS about my divorce
If you got a divorce in Virginia, you are more than "legally separated" from your former spouse; you are now divorced from her and she is now your
ex-wife.
You could probably send a brief letter to your local USCIS district office or to the one which issued your LPR status explaining this development with a copy of your "green card" and divorce decree.
