Legal Question in Immigration Law in Virginia

Switching from H1 to G4

My H1 is about to expire - finished my 6 years. Can I immediately switch to G4 or do I have to stay out of the country for a year to get my G4.

Re: Switching from H1 to G4

It does not appear that you would need to leave the country in order to apply for this G4 visa in your particular sitaution and the processing time for this particular visa is said to be as short as one day.(I assume that you're aware that the H-1B visa can be extended beyond six years in certain situations.)
