Legal Question in Insurance Law in Virginia
accelerated death benefit
My husband is the beneficiary to his aunt that passed away one month after she retired and lost her life insurance benefit. Because she was hospitalized right before she retired my husband was able to apply for accelerated death beneift. The benefit is being paid to the estate and not my husband however the death claim form states that if his aunt was mentally unstable that the benefit would be paid to my husband. The doctor filled out the form and stated she was mentally unstable. Can we fight this to try and get the benefit paid to my husband?

Re: accelerated death benefit
Well, what are you waiting for? Submit the completed claim forms with a copy of the doctor's letter to the insurance carrier along with your demand for payment.
