Legal Question in Insurance Law in Virginia
Automobile totaled in an accident
My husband was hit by a dump truck and his truck was totaled. Is there a way to get the insurance company to pay above and beyond the blue book or salvage price. The dump truck driver was charged with reckless driving and the truck itself had numerous violations as well.

Re: Automobile totaled in an accident
The insurance company is not going to pay anything more than it has to which in this case would apparently be the blue book value or salvage price of the totaled vehicle. Your husband will have to pursue the miscreant driver responsible for the accident and the resultant damages for the rest of his losses.
