Legal Question in Insurance Law in Virginia
Car insurance
I have liability insurance on my SUV and I let someone test drive and during that time they hit someone. My insurance company says there is a coverage issue on this claim due to the unlisted driver driving my vehicle at the time of the accident. I do have uninsured motorist coverage on the policy. Why would the accident not be covered.

Re: Car insurance
I assume this is not a commercial policy and if that is correct from what you have said the driver was a permissive user and must be covered under your policy. Your uninsured motorist coverage would only come into play if your driver was hurt because of the negligence of the other driver and the other driver did not have insurance. you as the owner do not have liability unless your driver was an employee of yours or doing something on your behalf.
