Legal Question in Insurance Law in Virginia
Car Seat Replacement
Are insurance companies required to replace infant car seats in the event of an accident where their insured was at fault for the accident?
There was a total of approx. $5000 worth of damage to our vehicle, and the insured hit our car where the carseat was located.
While there is no visible damamge, I have read it is best to replace the carseat as there may be damage not visible to the eye.
Thank you in advance!

Re: Car Seat Replacement
If the infant car seat sustained subtle but irretrievable damage in the accident, it should've been included in your original claim for damages. It may now be too late to include it unless the insurance carrier is still willing to entertain supplemental claims.
