Legal Question in Insurance Law in Virginia
does a company have the authority to change the amount of deductions for my medical? I had signed up as a NON-SMOKER and my deduction was $40 per week, however 9 months later the HR called me into her office and said she was informed I was indeed a smoker, therefore my deduction would be increased to $80 per week, whereby she then had me change my deduction sheet and sign it... I believe I was "taken for a ride"...Was what she did legal or just a "real-good-con"?

Why wouldn't it be (legal)? After all, you apparently agreed to and signed the formal authorization.
