What happens to a person who uses another person's insurance card to get medical treatment at a hospital?

He or she could go to jail for insurance fraud.

This person could be charged with various forms of theft and/or fraud, and, could also be held liable civilly, perhaps, not only to the insurance carrier but to the policy holder as well(the latter assumes that the policy holder did not consent to the use of his card).
