Legal Question in Insurance Law in Virginia

Theft

My friend recently had tvs and stereo systems stolen from his car. The car was at a carshop being fixed. The carshop owners told him an employee had done it and he was fired. My friend then looked at the contract he had with the carshop and the contract stated that they are not liable for anything being stolen, but the catch is that he never signed the papers. Therefor, in breech of this doesn't this mean they are liable for the theft especially since it was an employee of thier own. Please notify me

Re: Theft

Contract or no, they probably can't exculpate themselves from the willful acts of their own employees. They should pay for the loss.
