Legal Question in Insurance Law in Virginia
Virginia insurance regualtions
My son is in the Navy and out to sea until April or May. His car was hit and found to be totaled. Fault lies in the other party. Penn National Insurance is demanding I sign for my son to release the car. Here in Ohio this is not customary. Please advise as to the reasoning to sign release papers on the car when a lein holder is involved.
Thank you,
Suzanne

Re: Virginia insurance regualtions
Unless you have power of attorney to sign for your son, I would tell them that the release needs to go to him. My quess is that they want to resolve asap so that there are fewer storage costs.
