Legal Question in Insurance Law in Virginia
Water damage from the pipe above my apartment
water pipe above our ceiling broke and leaked which damaged my computer, printer etc. Since I don't have renter's insurance, can I recover some from building insurance? Because it was not our pipe broke, it was the water pipe 2nd floor tenant use?

Re: Water damage from the pipe above my apartment
Without reviewing the building insurance policy and what coverage(if any) which it may provide for this situation, it would be difficult to say(in my view).
You should first talk with the landlord to see what he or she may be willing to offer. (And, you may also wish to investigate whether the second floor tenant may be in any way responsible for your water damage.)
