Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

30 Day Notice

I gave a 30 day notice to my most recent employer. I worked for them for 18 months with no problems until they cut my pay because they were restructing my position. Per the request of my previous boss he asked me to come back and train for one day so I did without being paid. After being there for about 6 hours he comes up and approaches me about ''missing checks''. What happened was I voided the checks and didn't record them in QB but I had them in a folder all but 2 checks which I shredded because I accidently printed a P&L on it and it had information that I didn't want to just throw a away in the trash so I shredded it. NO MONEY IS MISSING. My monthly bank statements come out perfect everything month to the penny. My letter of recommendation is outstanding yet he is questioning me on these checks and why I didn't enter them. I told him that I've been doing books for 7 years and never thought about doing it but can understand the importance. Is there anything he can do legally to me? Again NO MONEY IS MISSING! I don't sign checks! I have no access to online banking. THANK GOODNESS! It worries me that he would even quetion me after 18 months when all the reports match up and he signs all the checks. Just a little concerned. Thanks
