Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

I had an accident at work that resulted in some minor damage to the doors of the shop at a constructon company. I feel the cost of the repairs should be covered by the company's insurance. Can I be forced to pay for the damages if it was truly an accident and not the result of carelessness or substance abuse? Can an employer hold your paycheck to pay for repairs from a work-related accident?

Unless you're covered by a contract of employment that would protect you

against such assessments, it would be my opinion that you can be required

to pay for these work-related damages as described, particularly if you want to stay employed with that particular company.
