Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

I have been asked to step down as manager from GNC after working there 11 years. I can work there at a lower rate of pay as a part times sales associate. I didn't do anything wrong I just have had a lot of happen in a very short time. Example I had a stroke year before last. Husband had end stage renal disease and is on dialysis. The economy has been rough to say the least and now less pay and health care for us will be mostly gone. I am scattered here but in a nut shell...HELP!

Unless you have had the advantage of working under an enforceable contract

or collective bargaining type of agreement that would protect you from

the kind of adverse emplpyment action that you've described, you are likely without a viable remedy(in my opinion).
