Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Big Business Regulations

Is it unlawful for a company to

change the pay periods for there

employee's given a 2 day notice

during a current pay cycle?

My situation is we are usually paid

bi-weekly, on the first and third

Friday of every month. We got paid,

then a week passed and our

payment structure had been

changed which was going to affect

this current pay period. So instead

of getting paid 14 days after our

last check, they are paying us on

the last day of the month

(Wednesday). Is it unlawful in

anyway, or just frowned upon to

treat the employees like this?

Thanks to anyone who can answer!

Re: Big Business Regulations

No, I don't see anything "unlawful" about it unless you're working under the protection of a contract of

employment which would prohibit this kind of payment arrangement.
