Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

I had been seeing my boss since July when I first moved back to Virginia. I became pregnant. Since he is the direct report to contact for me at work I was told by the director that if this is his baby (I have told no one who the dad is except for the boss) then I cannot work for him.

Can they demote me? If they move me to another part in the company does it have to be equivalent pay?

Yes, very likely you can be demoted at lesser pay unless your current position and pay are protected under an enforceable contract.
