Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Hi, I am a busy mother who wishes to hire a college student to help with odd jobs around the house such as mowing the lawn, changing lightbulbs in hard to reach places, fixing things etc It seemed like a good idea at the time and this fellow sure needs the money too, but who is liable if he injures himself ?? can he sue us ? or charge us for his medical bills ?

thanks

You would not be required to carry workmnan's compensation for this

person doing odd jobs part time around your house. As for who would be responsible if he injured himself in the course of doing such jobs, you would seem well advised to read carefully the provisions of your

homeowner's insurance policy for the answer to this question.
