Case for Retaliation in Civil Court

My case is quite involved but I want to ask about one aspect of it and that is, after I was terminated I went seeking jobs and found one I really wanted. I put down the employer's name and telephone number who fired me because it was asked on the application form. They called this supervisor and this person gave a very bad reference which caused me to lose the job. I just now realized that this is probably a case of retaliation against this person and this federal agency because I had a case against them with the EEOC. I have a case against them on a discrimination charge that has been in progress for over a year now. What can I do?

Re: Case for Retaliation in Civil Court

Your complaint could be amended to include the charge of retaliatory conduct(for your EEOC claim) on the part of your former employer in violation of federal law with a concomitant request for an increase in your damages.
