Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Change of company policy via email

I have been with my company for 2 years. When I first started, I signed a written agreement that offered me a base salary and commision. This commision was to be paid 1/2 at sale and 1/2 at delivery. The company has now sent an EMAIL to all sales managers stating 100% commision will only be given at the delivery. They are not changing the amount of pay, but the time of payment. I have not received a written form for me to sign agreeing to these changes. Can the company change this policy via Email without written concent?

Re: Change of company policy via email

Very likely, yes, unless you are working pursuant to a contract which requires such written consent for this type of change in the procedures for the payment of compensation.
