Collecting the money I'm owed.

I worked as an independant contractor in sales. The company I worked for will not pay me the $8000.00 they owe me. How would I go about collecting it? It's been 8 months that they have owed it to me.

You could sue them for up to $5000(the jurisdictional limit) in small claims court or for the full $8000 in general district court.
