Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia
I am one of several contractors (though an agency) working at the customer site, I have been with this agency for over 10 years now.
The Agency representative came to tell all the contractors in our department that as we go into 2012 the agency will no longer observe our accrual of vacation/PTO & sick days, if/when the customer site is closed for National Holidays we will no longer be paidall time away from work will be without pay..is this legal?
We have suffered a 7% pay cut 4 years ago and have not had a cost of living pay increase ever since moral is really low but we are told to be thankful that we have jobs!

Unfortunately, unless your employer is required by contract to compensate
you for such PTO and sick days, there is no requirement under Virginia
law that they must do so, which, if true in your case, very likely means that
you are without a remedy for the situation described.
