Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

coworker issues

I work at a mental hospital. One of my coworkers harrasses me all the time.2 weeks ago, she cornered me in the staff office and tried to light me on fire with a lighter multiple times. My manager was informed but never did anything. This week she became angry at work and was heard stating ''im going to get that bitch'' multiple times referring to me.She had to be physically removed from the ward by my coworkers becuase she was threating me.Again my manager was informed but only wrote her up for cursing in front of patients. This is the least punishment she could receive.I feel like the threats to me have not been addressed.I wrote a letter to human resources but they have not done anything yet.I do not feel safe at work. What am I able to do about this legally?

Re: coworker issues

How about filing a complaint with local law enforcement for assault and battery? (Yes, attempting to set one on fire with a cigarette lighter could well constitute that crime.)
