Unless you have a contract of employment or collective bargaining type of agreement to protect you against these kinds of adverse actions on the part of your employer, there's nothing that you can really do since in an employment at will jurisdiction such as the Commonwealth of Virginia, an employee can be terminated for almost any reason (or no reason) that doesn't violate federal antidiscrimination laws.
