Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Employee contract

My employer wants me to sign a new employee contract that will commit me to work for his company for a year. If I sign the contract, and then decide before the year is up to quit, can he sue me? I live in an employment-at-will state.

Re: Employee contract

Yes, of course, the employer could sue you for breach of contract(and who knows what else), but whether he could actually prevail in the suit would be an entirely different matter.
