Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Employee rights

Does an employer have the right to view, print out, and keep your personal email messages? Does an employer have the right to go through your trash can at work and take a personal letter out of it and keep it? Does an ex-employer have the right to call your to-be mortgage company and tell them you no longer work there? How can I tell if I had an implied employee contract? Thank you for any help you can give me.

The answer to your first three questions regarding what employers may do in the right to work jurisdiction of the Commonwealth of Virginia,

the answer is yes to all three.

Regarding your last question as to whether you may have been working under an implied contract,

you would need to consult an attorney to have

a reliable answer on this one, but it would probably be no, you were not.
