Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia
Former employer now wants my help
Thank you in advance for your help. I was released from a job I'd had for about 2 years a couple of weeks ago with no notice. I was called into an office at the end of the day, told that my services were no longer required effective immediately, given 2 weeks severance pay and told to clean out my office. I did so. Since then, the person who ''let me go'' has called my home, cell phone, and my husband's place of employment on several occasions requesting information. His messages are now threatening legal action if I don't return the call and offer my assistance, and accusing me of sabotaging information prior to my leaving. What are my rights, if any, in this situation? Also, am I in any way obligated to comply? I don't need the job reference, if that would be my only concern.
Thanks again.

You are in no way obligated to comply. (Hopefully,
you have already cashed the severance pay check.).
