Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia
my employer counted an unexcused abcenses as 2 separate occurrences because i had a scheduled PTO day in between the days i was sick. There was nothing in the policy stating that. I have disputed it and they are telling me. "Well it may not be in writing but that is the policy" They have now told me that the information was only given to the managers for that scenario and it was in the employes frequently asked questions. I told them i am not required to read the FAQ if that is the policy it should be in the official attendance policy not in the Q and A. is there anything i can do about this?

No, not in my opinion if you're thinking of some kind of
legal action against your employer which almost
certainly would result in your summary dismissal.
