Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

My employer granted me a leave of absence for personal reasons, and my return to work date was March 2nd. The company now will not let me return to work, as they have put a freeze on any new hiring. I'm not a new huire, I am returning from a leave, which I have in a contract clearly stating I was on leave and would be returning to work March 2. What recourse do I have? I NEED to work!

Unless the contract requiring that the company allow you to return

to work under the condition(s) specified is valid and enforceable for your particular situation, you would appear to be

without a remedy in the employment at will jurisdiction

known as the Commonwealth of Virginia.
