Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Former Employer Job Reference

I recently left my place of employment in Virginia at a church because of the senior pastor who had some serious morality and integrity issues to deal with. Needless to say he has been trying to threaten me ever since with law suites and all kinds of other junk which are just threats, because I have yet to recieve anything from a lawyer. Anyhow, he is trying to make my life a living hell and has pretty much said that he will not give me a good job reference when future possible employers call to check my work history. Is there anything I can do? I have some info that could probably get him fired, but I hate to do that, but at the same time I need to get on with my life.

submitted on nearly the same issues, your pastor, in effect, has been "blowin' smoke."
