Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

employment contract

I am currently employed with an consulting company as a regular company employee. They just won a contract using my resume and now want me to sign a commitment letter of employment for one year. I don't want to be laid off or quit right now and I don't really want to sign the letter, because I may want to move sometime this year. So if I sign the commitment letter, it is sort of under duress and I live in a employment at will state. If I sign it under these conditions and then quit and am sued, is the verdict likely going to go in my favor?
