I was verbally offered a marketing position at a company in Herndon, VA. The following day I received another phone call stating that the position was no longer available to me because their attorney told them that because I have an associate�s degree and not a bachelor�s degree, I am not eligible for the exempt position. I was told that I must have a bachelor�s degree by law to hold an exempt position in VA. Is that true?

I am trying to find the law that specifically states that a bachelor�s degree is required for an exempt position in Virginia.

There is another reason why the offer was withdrawn because there is no law setting the minimum educational requirment for an exempt position.
