Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

employment pay

my daughter had been working for 10 months and then she took a medical leave for six weeks. She has gone back to work the day after Thanksgiving and they have not paid her yet for working. They got a new system when she was out. How legal is it to have her work and not pay her. Everything is behind and her car is about to get reprocessed. The car needs brake work. She has been to her manager and vice president and they cant seem to correct the problem. What can we do? They owe her 12 weeks of pay. This company is a high ranking company not a fly by night.

Re: employment pay

The manager and the vice president of this "high ranking company" can't correct this problem of your daughter's work for no pay---and after 12 weeks?

Your daughter should probably file a complaint with the wage and hour branch of the labor and employment division of the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry, and then start looking for another job---after she files suit in small claims court for the sum of money which is owed her as wages.
