The criminal law generally considers felonies as more serious crimes than misdemenaor offenses, and, therefore,

felonies merit more serious penalties and punishment in general than do misdemeanors. You answer this question,

yes or no, depending upon whether, you've ever been convicted of one of these classes of criminal offense, i.e., felony or misdemeanor.
