Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

I am trying to find out what can be done about my employer not paying me correctly. For the past 3 months my boss has been telling me i am on payroll through paychex, but every payday he tells me for some reason my check hasn't arrived. He then writes me a personal check but he doesn't give me the whole amount. He says he is holding the proper amount of taxes But the amount is always wrong. I have had my hours calculated with the proper federal and state taxes And Ive learned that he has shorted me between 50- 130 dollars on each check.well, i finally confronted him about the issue and he fired me and shorted my last check by 300 dollars. He also says he lowered my pay( without notifying me of this). I have tried to resolve this issue with him, but he wont. I also was never given form w-4 for my taxes to be filed, so Can I really be on payroll without this form signed by me. So is there anything I can do to get money owed to me and is there anything illegal about the things he has done?

Sue the SOB is your local small claims court for these amounts that you believe that you've been shorted plus applicable costs.
