Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia
Fired my contractor
I fired my contractor because he was giving me too many excuses for not finishing the project (kitchen upgrade). He started the work late August. The amount of work left is about $700 (verbal contract). I have repeatedly called and asked him to remove his tools and equipement from the house, but he has not done so. What are my options?

Re: Fired my contractor
If you paid the contractor for the work which he has not completed($700 apparently), you could sue him for this amount in small claims court.
If for whatever reason the contractor
has failed to pick up his tools and equipment which have been left at your premises, after due written notice to him with a reasonable deadline to pick up the items, you could dispose of them as you see fit if the tools/equipment are still on your property after this deadline has passed.
