Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

I was fired on Friday from my place of employment. A conversation took place between myself and a member of management while we were both assisting the same agent. Just before my termination process began I was made aware of what the reasons behind it were. Appearantly the member of management told my supervisor and a member of HR that I made statements that I know I did not make. I know of at least 3 people that heard the entire conversation, all of which say that at no point was I in the wrong, nor did I make the alleged statements. Do I stand a chance at a case of slander?

No, probably not(in my opinion), but you might want to schedule an appointment

with an attorney who is appropriately experienced with and knowledgeable

regarding defamation law in the Commonwealth for further advice on

the matter.
