Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia
help/FMLA
I worked for this company for 5 years.I got sick and had to be out of work for sometime(which at the time i didnt know how long)I went ahead and signed for Family Medical Leave.A month later i wanted to return to work and they said they had to find a position for me because the one i had was taken.I understood and waited a week for a phone call.Which is long enough considering this company has 20 stores.I was a shift manager and was willing to be a cook or whatever until something became available.I left numerous voice mail messages on the division managers cellphone, with his office and in a few stores he frequented.I was never returned a call and I am still unemployed. As a result of all this I have lost my home, car and other essentials.I am a mother of 4 and I am the sole provider for my family.I tried to apply for assistance but due to unemployement,we make to much money.I am stuck in a rut and am wondering if i can sue for personal injury or something.I feel after serving this company for that long that they did me so wrong. What are my options,if there are any.-Thank you-

Re: help/FMLA
Assuming you company meets the FMLA criteria, and it would appear that it does, and you properly
applied for leave under the FMLA(The Act), and, now find yourself ,in effect, terminated from your position, it would appear that you have a
cause of action against the company, and should, therefore, arrange to consult with an attorney
who understands the FMLA and the process for bringing cases in federal court against alleged violators of "The Act".
