Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

My husband was fired from his job due to a work related injury, he filed for his long term disability that he paid for out of his previous checks and when they were finally ready to release the funds to our account they were flagged by an e-mail from my husbands ex employer telling them that he was employed somewhere else. this was a flat out lie and I'm wondering if there is some kind of legal action that can be taken?

No, I would doubt it; your husband should merely supply the proof necessary to whomever to disprove this false allegation in order to have the designated funds released to him.
