inappropriate comment at work
I am a supervisor in a medical call center. One of our physician called me upset about his schedule. He accused my department of changing his new patient slots to existing patient slots. I tried to explain to him that we don't have the capability of doing this but he cut me off and started to yell that he knows we are doing this and if he hears about it or see's it happening that he is going to ''kill somebody down there!'' He was overheard by another employee when he was screaming this at me. She called our Administrator to tell her that she thought this was inappropriate. The Administrator told her I deserved everything this doctor said to me. I verbally informed my Human Resource Manager. This has caused me great stress. I know he is not technically going to kill anyone but this incident has created a tense working environment for me. I was asked to document this in writing - I have no problems with that writing what took place but now they are wanting me to write what my intentions are for bringing this up, what I want to out of this and what my hopes are for reporting this. Is this something I have to write on my written documentation of the incident? I don't feel comfortable doing this and wanted a legal opinion.

Whoever "they" may be, tell them that you will provide your written factual account of the incident but nothing further involving your intentions, motives or hopes in regard to reporting this matter at this particular point in time.
