Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Leave Time

Can an employer force an exempt salaried employee to use Paid Time off (PTO) for the hours spent out of the office during a given work week? I was under the impression that an exempt employee earned their full daily wage for any percentage of hours worked. If I work 30 hours during a given work week, with a minimum of one hour per day, and I required to used PTO for the remaining 10 hours?

Re: Leave Time

Unless, you're working under a contract which would

prohibit the practice described, I would say, yes, the employer can(in response to your first question) and, yes, you are(in response to the second).
